"Flax connects: Learning, sharing, staying tuned"

Not everything always runs smoothly in flax cultivation - and it doesn't have to. A central idea of our project is that experience counts - not just yields. Whether your field is in full bloom or is currently experiencing problems - you are not alone. This project thrives on togetherness, sharing and learning together.

Every location is different - and that's a good thing

Perhaps your flax will flower earlier or later than others. Or it may grow more vigorously in some places and less in others. This is completely normal: no two fields are the same. Soil, weather, sowing time, care - it all differs. This is precisely why the exchange is so valuable: what doesn't work for you may work elsewhere - and vice versa.

Ask for help? Absolutely.

It's perfectly all right to say: "I don't know what to do." This is exactly when community is created. Nobody has to know everything or be perfect here. Our project is open to everyone - beginners and experienced alike.
If your harvest fails or your flax causes problems, get in touch with us. We will be happy to put you in touch with participants who would like to share their harvest or experience. Openness is not a weakness - it is the core of our project.

Knowledge is gained through trial and error

Growing flax takes time, patience and observation. Many things cannot be planned, but need to be understood. And this can only be achieved by doing it yourself - with trial and error. This is where real knowledge comes from - not through perfect instructions, but through experience.

Resilience: something also grows from setbacks

Flax used to be a survival crop - for clothing, oil and food. Even then, there were bad years, pest pressure and weather problems. But people carried on - not alone, but in exchange with others.
We want to strengthen this attitude again: resilience does not mean never failing, but always getting up again. And that works better when you feel connected.

What you can do now

  • Exchange ideas: Ask others for tips or opinions.
  • Also show what doesn't work: Many people learn from this - not just you.
  • Get in touch if you need help: We network you.
  • Share successes: They give others courage and orientation.

Conclusion: Community makes the difference

Growing flax is more than just a project - it is an invitation to learn together. Not every season brings a full harvest, but each one brings new insights, encounters and steps that take us further.

If you like, write us a few lines about your progress so far - whether successful or not. Perhaps your experience is exactly the impetus that someone else needs right now.
