Greetings, I'm in the Gänserndorf district and I'm curious to see if there are people in the neighbourhood who would like to join in. My flax is already yellow and I would like to harvest it. Did I see correctly that it is pulled out by the root, i.e. not cut? Mid-July is definitely too late for me by the time the video comes. Kind regards, Bertha
Yes, it is pulled out. As much as there is room for in one hand, then it is tied together with a stalk and put up to dry. I'm near Graz and harvested my flax today. Best regards, Bärbl
Hello, I live in Gallneukirchen and would also be happy to process the fibres together. I will also wait until they turn yellow before harvesting. In the meantime, they are still flowering beautifully, but in this heat the stems are bound to change colour soon. I look forward to exchanging ideas and working together! Lg, Mona Dunzendorfer
Hello, it's great that we keep getting information so that we can better assess and compare the (growth) status of our flax.
I have been uploading photos on an ongoing basis, including a recent photo of the beautiful flowers.
I would like to wait until they are yellow before harvesting so that I can also harvest seeds.
For the processing of the fibres I would like to work with like-minded people and possibly already experienced people, somewhere in the Linz or Mühlviertel area.
Could I get some contacts?
